Take your time as you stroll through the historic townsite, visit the museum, enjoy scenic views, and learn about one of Nevada's most remarkable mining stories through interpretive displays and exhibits located throughout the property.

Self-Guided Tours are available Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

What to Expect
The Sutro Tunnel Historic Site is an outdoor historic attraction located in the Nevada desert. Visitors should expect uneven terrain, dirt roads, and varying weather conditions throughout the year. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and water are strongly recommended, especially during the summer months.
Weather & Site Conditions
Tours and site access are subject to weather, safety conditions, and operational requirements. Friends of Sutro Tunnel reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel tours as necessary to ensure visitor safety and protect the historic site.
Liability Waiver
All visitors are required to complete a liability waiver before entering the site. To help expedite check-in, we encourage visitors to download, print, and complete a Waiver of Liability prior to arrival. Waivers will also be available at the site.
